Perhaps
the most obvious situation where people work for reasons
other than money is the case of charity volunteer work.
Those who work do not get money so it is interesting
to consider the reasons why they do it such as job
satisfaction. There may be several other different
reasons. Some people may just do it simply because
they want to help others less fortunate than themselves.
This may be due to pure concern for others or even
just as a way of feeling good about themselves. Some
may want to help others that are suffering from something
that the volunteer has been through. E.g. a recovered
alcoholic may want to help other alcoholics. These
are just a few of the many reasons that some people
may want to work. (130 words)
