I
think it would be great if other countries would adopt
the custom of bowing like we do in Japan. Bowing is
a simple gesture that is polite and simple to do. It
can be done again and again with ease, and the degree
of bow represents the amount of respect paid to the
person receiving the bow. It can be done in front of
anyone and it can be taught to even young children.
It also requires no physical contact, unlike hand shaking.
If people in other countries adopted the custom of bowing to
everyone, the world would be a much friendlier place.
