転校する/move
to a new school
〜に慣れる/get used to〜
同級生/student's peers
When
a student moves to a new school, there are many things
that they have to get used to. The other students,
for example, are not familiar to them and it may be
difficult for the new student to make friends. In addition,
the new student may have difficulty with the teachers
or the subjects, especially if the student transfers
in the middle of the year. Schools can help these students
by allowing them some time to adjust and by offering
counseling sessions. The greatest help, however, will
come from the new student's peers. The faster he or
she makes friends, the easier the adjustment will be.(107
