Studying
at home...would be preferable in many cases. I would
like to go to college in New York, but would rather
live in California. If I could take classes over the
internet then I could have the best of both worlds.
Taking challenging courses from the college of my choice,
all while living where I am happiest would be an ideal
situation. I could also afford to attend a better college
if I was free from worrying about the expense of living
in an expensive area. A degree from a top university
would help me get a better job in the future too. So
I would prefer to attend classes at home.
Studying at traditional schools...is important for
students. School life involves much more than just learning
reading,
writing, and arithmetic. Schools help students learn
important social skills as well. Students need to learn
how to function in society to become productive members
of it. They must be able to get along with their peers,
respect their superiors, and perform well under pressure.
All of these are important skills taught in traditional
schools. Studying by using technology would not teach
students any of these things. This type of learning would
leave them unprepared for the world they would be a part
of as an adult.(112/102 words)
