I
agree that schools should ask students to evaluate
their teachers. However, the evaluation method needs
to be carefully considered. As students are generally
young and lack maturity, their evaluation of the teacher
may not be impartial to their personal feelings towards
that teacher. For example, a student may evaluate a
teacher poorly because they do not like the particular
subject taught by that teacher. Even so, I feel that
it is a good idea for students to evaluate their teachers.
There are many reasons for this. One is for providing
teachers and administrators with feedback on the success
of their education methods. Another reason is to identify
teachers of high standard and enable them to become
role models for other teachers. Student evaluation
of teachers can help to improve the overall education
system.
