It
is, of course, possible to sight many examples of people
who have succeeded either through luck or by hard work.
It is fair to say for example, that successful models
such as Kate Moss or Naomi Campbell, while I am sure
they"work" hard, owe all their success to being
born with the good fortune of being beautiful. It is
impossible
by hard work alone to become beautiful. On the other
hand, people such as Einstein or Newton, while being
blessed with genius, worked hard to turn their natural
talent to results that would benefit their fellow man.
The question is in how you define success. Has anything
of any worth ever been brought into the world by anybody
through luck alone? Is it fair to measure the "success"
of a model against the success of a genius like Einstein?
