痛みなくして得るものなし/No
pain, no gain.
実り/fruit
楽しくないこと/what is not enjoyable
努力する/work hard
I
believe that all people should do things they don't
enjoy doing from time, because without a notion of
what is not enjoyable, people soon also lose the sense
of what is enjoyable. There is an expression in English,
"No pain, no gain". What it means is that without
working hard for something, without putting yourself
through
pain and trouble, it is impossible to fully appreciate
the fruits of your labor. Most people would rather
not work than work, but without work, people are unable
to appreciate the nice things in life that come from
working. If at any moment you could receive exactly
what you wanted or be transported anywhere you wanted
to go without working for it, it would soon become
meaningless. (124 words)
